DAR members nationwide all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped secure the independence of the United States of America. These Daughters are passionate about community service, preserving history, educating children and honoring the men and women who serve our great nation. Deb Bowen, creator of A BOOK by ME, is a proud daughter in the Rebecca Parke Chapter in Galesburg. She speaks often in local chapters in Iowa and Illinois and serves as the Service for Veterans Chairman in DAR District 1 in Illinois.
