Help us bring some sunshine

into the life of a WWII survivor or veteran during COVID-19

I started to read the materials and stories, and I could not put them down. It was so powerful to read both the student’s interpretation, as well as the direct stories from the survivors themselves. I have many times researched and studied the Holocaust, but these stories bring the experience to life.”

When a family receives a book, created by children for children, that honors their loved one, they often send us a heartfelt thank you. Many times, we receive photos that show a smiling veteran holding their completed book project.

Trust us when we say that your donations are put to exceptionally good use. Often we hear something like this from teachers "As a small rural school, we struggle with resources, as most schools do. Thankful for your donors making it possible for our students to have these wonderful book sets."

Our volunteers, in the form of writing coaches, editors, and curriculum developers, help prepare each of these amazing one-of-a-kind books.

Your support will help us keep our highly efficient model running so we can continue to serve children who aspire to become published authors and illustrators. There are many more stories to tell! Book sales make it possible for us to continue this important intergenerational work.

"I'm passing along the lessons from the Greatest Generation and others who have lived through hardship to future generations. Our subject's humility, sense of responsibility, and work ethic are inspiring. Having a student interview someone with a powerful story to tell is the greatest gift I can give them and those who will one day read their book." Deb Bowen
